Your Tasks
- Operate as a member of a team within the department, helping to achieve optimum plant utilisation and efficiency.
- Ensure that the workplace, equipment, vehicles and machinery are maintained in an organised, clean and tidy condition.
- Undertake a comprehensive training programme to be able to run every aspect of the raw board/log yard department. Attend any further training courses as required.
- Complete shift reports detailing usages including a detailed shift hand over with any specific data required relevant to the shift.
- Complete quality reports as required as per raw material quality policy.
- Observe and comply with all safety precautions as detailed in the Health and Safety procedures, and ensure that safety equipment and PPE is in good order and used at all times.
- Ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents / accidents and hazards are duly reported.
- Liaise with the Log Yard Supervisor and/or relevant engineering department as to the condition of the equipment or machinery with regard to any faults or production issues.
- When required, provide support for holiday / sickness /training / maintenance cover to help maximise production output and efficiency.
- Observe and comply with the Company Quality Systems as detailed in the Quality Manual.
Our Requirements
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
- One day Health & Safety course.
- Reasonable standard of secondary education.
- CITB License preferred.
- Able to work double day shift pattern (40 hours)
