Accounting Manager

EGGER UK is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to oversee the smooth and efficient running of the Financial Controlling department.  The position is responsible for managing a team and ensuring controlling processes are carried out in line with Group guidelines. This role requires a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA) with previous experience in a supervisory/managerial role.

Your Tasks

Controlling:

 

  • Oversee the smooth and efficient running of the Controlling department for the UK operations, including Hexham, Barony, Campact, Timberpak, and Forestry.
  • Develop and improve the preparation of high-quality Controlling information to support management decision making.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness regarding the company’s products, customers, markets, and production processes.

 

Reporting:

 

  • Carry out the Controlling month-end closing processes.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the UK monthly result for local Management.
  • Coordinate the preparation of monthly reporting information for submission to the Group Controlling department.
  • Prepare other statistical reports and reports as required.
  • Responsibility for Transfer Pricing, ensuring compliance with regulations.

 

Analysis:

 

  • Reconcile the actual to budget EBITDA performance on a plant and country level and investigate variances in detail.
  • Analyse and investigate the actual vs budget spend variances on a cost center level.
  • Analyse contribution margins at a product and customer level using Business Objects (‘BO’) software.

 

Forecasting:

 

  • Coordinate and prepare the quarterly rolling budgets in line with Group guidelines (EGGER Planning System ‘EPS’).
  • Prepare the monthly and quarterly liquidity forecasts to be submitted to the Group Treasury department.

 

Leading:

 

  • Effectively manage, motivate, and develop the Controlling department team members.
  • Supervise and review the performance of team members.
  • Identify training needs within the department and ensure team members fulfil these training requirements.

 

General:

 

  • Liaise with Group colleagues in the Controlling, Treasury, and IT departments.
  • Work with other departments in the UK to ensure transactions are accurately processed within SAP.
  • Attend meetings as required, including trips to Europe.

 

Our Requirements

 

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA).
  • Preferably a diploma/degree level education in Accountancy/Finance or professional discipline.
  • Previous and proven experience of working in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are important.
  • High standard of IT skills and competent use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel,Outlook).
  • Previous experience of working with SAP IT systems would be preferred.
  • Knowledge of the German language would be an advantage but not essential.
