Dispatch Operator

EGGER UK is seeking a Despatch Operator to join our team in the Gatehouse in Hexham. As the first point of contact for drivers, visitors and contractors, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people, vehicles, and products across our site. £13.57 per hour/£28,225 per annum. Salary rises to £16.58 when covering shifts/weekends.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Dispatch Operator, you'll be responsible for coordinating site logistics and ensuring all dispatch activities run smoothly and safely. Key duties include:

• Preparing delivery documentation for outgoing goods.
• Processing goods issue transactions and maintaining accurate records.
• Operating the site weighbridge for inbound and outbound vehicles.
• Coordinating vehicle movements between the trailer park and manufacturing facilities.
• Registering visitors, contractors and drivers in line with site security requirements.
• Operating the switchboard outside normal office hours.
• Supporting emergency procedures as part of the site's Emergency Contact Centre.
• Providing a professional and welcoming first impression of EGGER to all site visitors.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can communicate confidently with a wide range of people, and has a strong attention to detail.

You'll ideally have:

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• An understanding of health and safety principles.
• The ability to remain calm and professional when managing competing priorities.

Previous experience within logistics, transport, dispatch, gatehouse, reception or administration environments would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.
