What you’ll be doing


As a Technical Purchasing Specialist, you’ll play a key role in keeping our site moving efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Delivering top-tier procurement service by following EGGER UK’s procurement guidelines across all activities.
  • Leading UK material group strategies to source and supply indirect materials and support services effectively.
  • Managing contractor onboarding and performance, using digital tools to monitor, analyse, and enhance results.
  • Overseeing daily procurement operations to ensure a high-quality service for the business.
  • Developing and strengthening the supply base through supplier visits, SRM activities, audits, negotiations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilising digital procurement tools, running tenders, analysing complex categories, and driving down transactional costs.
  • Supporting special projects assigned by the Technical Purchasing Manager.

What we need from you

 

We’re looking for someone who brings a mix of technical know-how, people skills, and a proactive approach. Ideally, you’ll bring:

 

  • Membership of (or working towards) CIPS – desirable
  • A full driving licence
  • Knowledge of procurement processes: RFx/tendering, supplier selection, contractor onboarding, ERP systems, and the sourcing lifecycle
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly across M365 tools and BI analysis
  • Experience using SAP (essential), with Ariba and spend analytics tools a plus
  • Experience in supplier relationship management
  • A highly organised approach with the ability to prioritise under pressure in a busy manufacturing setting
  • Natural problem-solving skills and confidence communicating at all levels, internally and externally
