WMS Key User and Continuous Improvement Specialist

The Warehouse Management System (WMS) Key User and Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for optimising warehouse operations through effective use of the WMS and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role will serve as the primary WMS expert, ensuring its efficient utilisation and ongoing enhancement to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

 

WMS Expertise:

 

  • Act as the primary WMS key user, providing in-depth knowledge and support to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Train and support warehouse staff on WMS functionalities, best practices, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to resolve WMS-related issues and implement system upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for WMS usage.

 

Continuous Improvement:

 

  • Lead and manage continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor and analyse warehouse performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilise Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence.

 

Operational Support:

 

  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all warehouse activities.
  • Coordinate with warehouse management to align WMS capabilities with operational needs.
  • Support inventory management and accuracy through effective WMS utilisation.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, continuous improvement, and WMS management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using WMS and other relevant software.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve operational excellence.
  • Experience in Operations Excellence, including the application of its principles and methodologies.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience in process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with WMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan).
