Associate HRBP (Human Resources Business Partner)

MISSION / SUMMARY: 

 

The Lexington, NC campus of EGGER, North America, includes a state of the art manufacturing facility as well as EGGER’s North America Headquarters and employs approximately 500 salary and hourly associates on site. The HRBP supports manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, and logistics department managers, supervisors and their teams. The Associate HRBP provides coaching, consulting, and people centric business support, as well as policy interpretation and application that includes employee relations. The position is responsible for routine and expected HR related activities but, equally important people centric business partnerships that help leaders and employees perform at their best are a major focus of the role. We help the company deliver sustainably sourced and produced, quality products, that are made safely and efficiently, to Americas leading manufacturers, designers, and distributors. The Associate HRBP understands and aligns business operations and Human Resources as they execute their role to exceed customer expectations and align with EGGER’s business, cultural & engagement, financial and operational objectives.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Associate HRBP with a key support focus on operations paraprofessional and production associates.

  • Acts as a partner, advocate, and generalist with all HR COEs (Centers of Excellence).
  • Partners with Talent Management on topics including learning & development, training, performance management, talent review, culture & engagement, and early career development.
  • Partners with Total Rewards & People Services and Solutions on employee compensation, payroll, data management, health & wellness and retirement benefits.
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition on headcount vacancy management, interviewing and selection, pre-employment and onboarding.
  • Partners with Safety on varied projects, training, and other safety related topics.
  • Manages various communication streams for assigned employee groups.
  • Coordinates employee engagement activities and the employee engagement committee.
  • Provides employee relations counseling, training, and problem solving for managers and employees to ensure a productive work environment, consistent with company values, policies and compliance to state and federal regulatory law.
  • Advises, counsels, and provides training to managers and supervisors on performance concerns including corrective action plans.
  • Investigates employee relations related complaints or allegations and recommends appropriate action.
  • Must be able provide candid feedback from the employee’s and company’s perspective. 
  • Partners with leadership to identify and plan for employee development needs and career paths.
  • Lead and/or participate on various project teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • Two (2) to four (4) years HRBP or HR Generalist experience is preferred. Recent college graduates will be considered with an emphasis on experiences gained through education and prior work.
  • Prior experience as an HRBP in an organization with a large population of employees is preferred. 
  • Experience in multiple human resources generalist disciplines at all levels from production to professional level employees.
  • Safety & Worker’s Comp experience helpful.

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field or compensatory closely related work experience, or some combination thereof, required in lieu of degree.
  • SHRM/HRCI certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and other government compliance regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of talent management & talent acquisition, talent assessment, succession planning & development, compensation, and benefits as well as time keeping and payroll.
  • Microsoft Office Suite Products.
  • SAP HCM and Success Factors knowledge helpful but not required.

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule(s) is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office tools and equipment.
