Commercial Manager

The Commercial Manager works to improve the customer experience and help drive revenue growth. They do this by ensuring that our customers’ requests are interpreted accurately and promptly and by providing a high level of service to our internal and external clients. The role evaluates viability and profitability of key accounts and product lines. Evaluations are the result of both internal and external requests from the EGGER commercial sales team as well as customer requests. This work directly impacts the company’s long range plan and business strategy as it aligns our technical capabilities, growth plan, and influences strategic capital investments focused on business development and growth. Additionally, this role oversees our incentive and rebate programs that are provided to our customers to encourage revenue generation and specification identification. Finally, the role continuously partners across all areas of commercial sales in the accurate management and oversite of the company’s price list enabling the incumbent to provide a broad understanding of the overall impact of sales and sales proposals.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Customer Service operational excellence / process improvement.
  • Give guidance and direction for program pricing and Commercial management.
  • Provide pricing policy support to the Sales Leadership team.
  • Management of supports, rebate process, and customer incentives.
  • Provide Quarterly Business Reviews to show status of orders, rebates earned, etc.
  • Supervise and lead a team of sales support personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Drive Commercial Strategy support and implementation.
  • EGGER Decorative Collection deployment and support.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure seamless coordination of sales activities and customer inquiries.
  • Specification strategy implementation – product availability, project pipeline tracking, and proactive calling.
  • Salesforce monitoring and reporting.
  • EPS process technical support and volume management (scope to be determined to not overlap with Market Intelligence).
  • Work closely with marketing, logistics, and other relevant departments to align sales support activities with broader organizational goals.
  • Implement strategic commercial projects.
  • Drive increased rate of customer portal usage and digitalization of orders.
  • Visit with customers at Lexington plant or their facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

DELIVERABLES

  • Complete and manage price list for distribution and industry.
  • Ensure at least 10 accounts transition to our EDI platform by the end of April 2026.
  • Measure and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Quarterly account review analysis and presentation.
  • Exemplary service to our external customers as well as our internal customers.
  • Prepares detailed quotes for sales in response to customer inquiries.
  • Other deliverables as assigned.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE

  • Preference for candidates within same or similar industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales or customer service management.
  • Leadership and managing a team.
  • Sales & market analysis. 

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE

  • Four-year degree strongly preferred or compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Salesforce
  • SAP

 

SKILLS

  • Ability to work independently or in team settings, with ease, and transition between the two seamlessly.
  • Analysis, both data and situational implications.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Follow up and follow through.
  • Ability to train and mentor employees.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
  • Role may require international travel.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
