Commercial Specialist

The Commercial Specialist works to improve the customer experience and help drive revenue growth. They do this by ensuring that our customers’ requests are interpreted accurately and promptly and by providing a high level of service to our internal and external customers. This role is responsible to make sure that we say YES to the opportunities that will be a good fit for both us and the customer. Aligning our technical abilities and strategic direction with the opportunities that are presented to us.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Work on pricing incentives together with the Commercial Manager, follow up on opportunities together with Sales Leadership team
  • Follow up on successful new business to make sure the business is substantial and ongoing together with the Sales team
  • Initiate feasibility checks for new products with Product Management, keep file of technical possibilities to be a competent first contact for new product requests
  • Set up agreed rebates in the ERP system, periodical updates for the sales team on progress, settlement of rebates on the agreed dates as well as initiating the process of new set up of rebates for the next period together with the Sales Team
  • Commercial Strategy support as well as monthly updates on the progress on each sales channel, volume development, décor share, new customer monitoring
  • EDC deployment and ranging support.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure seamless coordination of sales activities and customer inquiries
  • Specification strategy support - product availability, project pipeline tracking, potentially proactive calling
  • Join regular update meetings with the Sales Leadership team and monitor and track tasks
  • Salesforce monitoring and reporting.
  • Support the Commercial management on strategic commercial projects
  • Customer portal and digitalization of orders
  • Join customer visits or conference calls and follow up tasks by using Salesforce
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

DELIVERABLES:

  • Work on price lists for DIS and OEM.
  • Measure and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Quarterly account review analysis and presentation.
  • Exemplary service to our external customers as well as our internal customers.
  • Prepares detailed quotes for sales in response to customer inquiries.
  • Other deliverables as assigned.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • Preference for candidates within same or similar industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales or customer service.
  • Sales & market analysis – preferred.

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Four-year degree strongly preferred or; 
  • 5+ years experience closely related required, in lieu of degree.
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Salesforce – preferred.
  • SAP- preferred.
  • Spanish – preferred but not a requirement.

 

SKILLS:

  • Ability to work independently or in team settings, with ease, and transition between the two seamlessly.
  • Analysis, both data and situational implications.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Follow up and follow through.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Team player - Collaboration
  • Self-starter.

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
  • Role may require international travel.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
