HVAC Technician
The Industrial HVAC Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems in an industrial/commercial environment. This role will also support the Fire Protection team by assisting with inspections, testing, and repairs of fire protection equipment as required. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality work, follows strict safety practices, and provides exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
- Install, maintain, inspect, and repair HVAC systems, chillers, rooftop units, air handlers, compressors, pumps, and related control systems.
- Troubleshoot HVAC system issues using diagnostic tools and manufacturer documentation; perform corrective repairs to restore reliable operation.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and adjustments to ensure system efficiency and longevity.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records, work orders, and logs.
- Follow all facility safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Assist the Fire Protection team with inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of fire protection equipment and systems as needed.
- Coordinate with other maintenance trades and operations to schedule work with minimal disruption to production.
- Operate company vehicles and forklifts as needed (if qualified and assigned).
- Participate in on-call rotation and emergency response when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE DEMANDS
- General schedule is an 8.5-hour Monday-Thursday. 7am-1pm Friday assignment; however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
- Possible on-call rotation. Once a month for one week.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly, heavier lifts with assistance.
- Frequent standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, and working in confined spaces and at heights.
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures typical of a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to wear required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator when required).
QUALIFICATIONS
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on HVAC experience in an industrial or commercial setting.
- EPA Section 608 certification for handling refrigerants, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Valid refrigeration license (if required by state/local codes) or equivalent experience.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE
- Technical diploma or certification in HVAC, refrigeration, or related trade.
- Experience with industrial controls, PLCs, VFDs, and building automation systems (BAS) preferred.
- Previous experience supporting fire protection systems (sprinkler pumps, deluge systems, detection systems, etc.).
- OSHA 10/30 safety training preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
SKILLS
- Strong diagnostic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Professional attitude, strong verbal communication skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
