Lamination Machine Operator

As a Lamination Machine Operator you will be responsible for ensuring the lamination of our products are executed properly with automated machinery by accurately following customer order specifications for paper and particleboard sizes, and examining laminated panels for defects.

Starting Wage Range: $18/hour with an additional $3 shift differential. 

 

Schedule: 12 hour rotating swing shift, two weeks days 7am-7pm, two weeks nights 7pm-7am.

 

Responsibilities

  • Operate as a member of a team in the lamination department and to ensure that the department is maintained in a clean, tidy and organized condition.

  • Undertake a comprehensive training program to be able to run every aspect of the lamination department, to include boards/paper preparation, pressing, sorting, inspections, banding, fork truck and general warehouse duties.

  • Ensure all safety precautions as detailed in the Health and Safety procedures are recognized and adhered to and that safety equipment is in good order and used at all times. Ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents/ accidents and hazards are duly reported.

  • Complete shift reports detailing production, downtime, to include any specific data required relevant to shift. Coordinate with the shift supervisor with regard to the operations and reports of the shift.

  • Observe and comply with the Company Quality Systems as detailed in the Quality Manual.

  • Communicate with the shift supervisor and relevant engineering department as to the condition of the production equipment or problems.

  • And all other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Good communication and team skills.

  • Working basic knowledge of computers.

  • Experience with tools and machinery.

  • Good organizational skills and good mechanical/electrical aptitude.

  • Demonstrate ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Work efficiently and manage time effectively.

  • Possess physical strength and stamina required to stand, walk, and lift for long periods of time (can be in extreme climate conditions).

  • Manual dexterity to handle tools and the ability to lift and move 50 pounds to perform routine functions.

  • Ability to work at heights, in hot, noisy & dirty environments.

  • High ability to manage stressful situations.

  • Basic understanding of math, reading, and writing.
