Lamination Shift Supervisor

The Lamination Shift Supervisor will report to the Lamination Manager. This supervisor will be responsible for the efficient operation of the shift to achieve output targets while maintaining safety, tidiness, and required environmental and quality levels.

 

Shift: 12-hour rotating swing shift, 2 weeks 7am-7pm, 2 weeks 7pm-7am

 

Starting Pay: $26.25/hour + $3/hour shift premium.

Responsibilities

  • To implement and maintain company Safety Systems ensuring that safety equipment is in good order and used at all times.
  • To ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents/accidents and hazards are investigated and duly reported.
  • To organize, supervise and motivate the members of the shift. This includes, delegating tasks to operators as necessary and to ensure that the department is maintained in a clean, tidy and organized condition.
  • To manage resources effectively throughout the shift; especially over rest periods. To ensure that there is adequate cover on the shift for holidays, sickness etc. as required.
  • To manage attendance within the department in accordance with Company policy.
  • To ensure that departmental training program is organized and maintained and all training is recorded, including the organization of induction and safety training for all new starters.
  • To provide short term cover in upgrading areas, supervising when required. To provide cover for other supervisor's holiday/absence.
  • To carry out first stages of disciplinary procedure, if required, in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.
  • To liaise with your manager and the appropriate engineering department, where necessary, as to the condition of the equipment or maintenance requests.
  • To complete shift checks and work with operators to achieve quality standards alongside machine optimization.
  • To ensure all aspects of your department production and related recording systems are adhered to, in conjunction with administrators, ensuring that all department recording systems are correct and maintained.
  • To liaise with your manager with regard to all aspects of the operations, ensuring that any problems are communicated in a timely and efficient manner, following the established reporting procedure.
  • To participate in and provide key process information to the morning meeting.
  • To implement and maintain the Company Quality Systems as detailed in the Quality Manual.
  • To provide out of hour's support as required.
  • To complete shift inspection and hand-over reports.

 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma with 3-5 years experience. 
  • Working knowledge of production practices and processes. 
  • Work efficiently and manage time effectively. 
  • Great attention to detail. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Problem solving skills. 
  • High ability to manage stressful situations in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong computer navigation skills. 
  • Preferred experience with SAP and ERP.
  • Line optimization and knowledge sharing.
