The Maintenance Planning Supervisor is responsible for efficiently coordinating and planning maintenance activities to ensure the optimal performance of equipment, machinery, and facilities within the organization. This role involves analyzing equipment performance data, developing maintenance plans, managing work orders, allocating resources, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Maintenance Planning Supervisor plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, enhancing productivity, and extending the lifespan of assets.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Planning: The Maintenance Planning Supervisor is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules. They analyze equipment performance data, maintenance history, and recommendations from technicians to effectively plan maintenance activities.
  • Work Order Management: The Maintenance Planning Supervisor receives and reviews work orders, prioritizes tasks, and assigns them to the appropriate maintenance technicians. They ensure that work orders are accurately documented, contain all necessary information, and are completed within the designated timelines.
  • Resource Allocation: A crucial aspect of the role is to allocate the necessary resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to execute maintenance tasks efficiently. The Maintenance Planning Supervisor coordinates with relevant departments to ensure the availability of resources and timely procurement of necessary items.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: The Maintenance Planning Supervisor develops and maintains a master schedule for maintenance activities, considering equipment availability, production requirements, and technician availability. They coordinate with production teams and other relevant stakeholders to minimize disruptions and optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Preventive Maintenance Program: The Maintenance Planning Supervisor implements and manages a preventive maintenance program. This includes developing preventive maintenance plans, scheduling routine inspections, and ensuring timely completion of maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns and prolong asset life.
  • Contractor Management: In cases where specialized services or external contractors are required, the Maintenance Planning Supervisor is responsible for identifying reliable contractors, obtaining quotes, and managing the contractor selection process. They coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project deadlines.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurate documentation is imperative for maintenance planning and reporting. The Maintenance Planning Supervisor maintains detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, task completion, spare parts usage, and equipment history. They generate reports on maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and recommend improvements.
  • Safety and Compliance: The Maintenance Planning Supervisor ensures compliance with safety regulations and standards within the maintenance department. They promote a safety-conscious culture, conduct regular safety training, and enforce adherence to safety protocols to protect the well-being of maintenance technicians and minimize accidents.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in maintenance planning or supervision, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in maintenance planning principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with equipment maintenance and reliability concepts.
  • Proficiency in using of SAP PM/MM.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
