Particleboard Press Operator
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Particleboard Continuous Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining continuous press machinery used in the production of particleboard. Schedule: 12-hour rotating 7-7 swing shift (2-2-3) 2 weeks days & 2 weeks nights.
Starting pay: $23.25/hour

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
- Machine Operation: Set up and operate continuous press machinery to produce particleboard according to specifications and production schedules. Adjust and optimize recipes to maintain and improve quality and increase output.
- Monitoring Production: Continuously monitor the production process, ensuring that machinery operates efficiently and that product quality meets company standards.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of particleboard for defects, thickness, and other quality parameters. Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain quality.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the continuous press and related equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Ensure area is maintained in a clean, tidy and organized condition.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot any issues with the machinery or production process, coordinating with maintenance personnel as needed.
- Record Keeping: Record and compile operational data, complete and maintain accurate production logs, forms, and reports, including quantities produced, downtime, and any issues encountered during the shift.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Company policies, safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members including supervisors and quality control personnel, to ensure the Conti area (Tank Farm, Glue Kitchen, Spreader, Conti Roll, Saw, Finishing - which is part of the Raw Board Production Department) to meet production goals and improve processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience operating continuous press machinery or in a similar manufacturing role preferred.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer proficiency – working with Microsoft Excel and PC-based applications.
- Experience with tools and machinery and using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Working efficiently and managing time effectively, while using good organizational skills, strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- High ability to manage stressful situations.
- Reading and interpreting technical documents and schematics.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Technical training in manufacturing or machinery operation is a plus.
- Basic understanding of math, reading and writing.
- Valid Driver’s License.

SCHEDULE DEMANDS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Physical strength, stamina and agility to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Work in fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.

- Manual dexterity to handle and use various office hand and electrical tools or equipment to perform routine functions.
- Operating power and industrial vehicles.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
