Pre-Production Supervisor

To coordinate resources of personnel, materials and machinery influencing the efficiency and maximum utilization of the Pre-Production department at the EGGER (Lexington) plant. Areas of responsibility include Wood Delivery, Log Yard, Wet Chip Preparation, Recycling Plant, Driers, WESP, RTO as well as the dry chip preparation.To assist in the achievement of operational targets whilst maintaining high levels of quality, safety, and environmental awareness within the department.

 

Schedule: 12-hour swing shift, 7am-7pm & 7pm-7am

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the process, equipment and personnel within the Pre-Production Department areas: Log Yard, Wood Delivery, Wet Chip Preparation, Recycling Plant, Driers, WESP, RTO, Dry Chip Preparation.
  • Operate as a member of a team to ensure an efficient and effective production process to predetermined and agreed standards.
  • Provide the Pre-Production Production Manager with detailed and accurate information as required, with regard to the performance, efficiency, downtimes, etc. of the areas of responsibility. 
  • Conduct and coordinate training activity for the pre-production personnel when required.
  • Update the Pre-Production Manager on any arising quality and safety issues or concerns.
  • Liaise with the Pre-Production Manager as to the condition of the equipment and the planning of maintenance schedules together with the Engineering Department in order to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Carry out first stages of disciplinary procedure, in conjunction with the HR Department. 
  • Ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents or accidents and hazards are duly reported.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and guidelines within the pre-production area.
  • Conduct performance reviews.

 

Qualifications

  • Highschool Degree.
  • Relevant related work experience, including leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Good communication and team skills.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and PC based applications.
  • Strong leadership skills, including contributing to and enhancing teams.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Work efficiently and manage time effectively.
