We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role will involve supporting various accounting functions, ensuring compliance, and assisting in the management of financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles and a keen interest in developing their skills in the field.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
- Month-End Close: Work with the accounting team to complete the month-end close process efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and account reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Account Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations and clearing of discrepancies to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Intercompany Transactions: Assist in the management and reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
- Internal Controls: Identify control gaps and recommend process improvements to strengthen financial accuracy and reduce risk.
- Accruals: Help with miscellaneous accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Fixed Asset Management: Manage fixed assets, including the calculation and recording of monthly depreciation.
- Lease Accounting: Support lease accounting processes, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Accounting Processes: Help develop and refine accounting processes, closing checklists, standard operating procedures, documentation, and automation opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE
- 4-7 years of experience in accounting/planning/tax compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting as well as familiarity with accounting software (e.g. SAP, Oracle).
- Strong background in financial reporting to prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred or;
- Compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.
- A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- A strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting, including depreciation methods and asset capitalization.
- Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements.

- Process Improvement: Proactive approach to contributing to process automation and efficiency improvements in accounting functions.
- Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions, especially during audits or financial discrepancies.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in financial reporting and documentation to ensure compliance and reliability.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, particularly during month-end close processes.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and present financial information clearly.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with project managers and other departments.
- Willingness to Learn: A proactive attitude towards learning new accounting practices, tax laws, and software tools.
SCHEDULE DEMANDS
- General schedule is primarily office-based 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so, for occasional extended hours during closing or audit periods.
- Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
- Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
- Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
- Occasional time on the production floor, in an accounting capacity, may be required.
