Technical Support Supervisor

The Technical Support Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the technical support team that addresses issues related to manufacturing equipment, task preparation & planning, spare part management, SAP processes, and systems. This role involves leading the team, providing technical guidance and ensuring that production downtime is minimized through effective support.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of technical support specialists focused on manufacturing technologies.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Organize training sessions to enhance team skills in manufacturing systems and equipment. - Technical Expertise: Provide advanced technical support for manufacturing issues, including mechanical, electrical and automation systems.
Collaborate with other departments (Production, Purchasing, Controlling,..) and external companies to support Maintenance teams and practices.
Create maintenance schedules, shutdown & budget plans, resolve and escalate issues to meet the business goals.
Oversee spare part management/ inventory control. - Process Improvement: Oversee the application of SAP (PM & MM modules), and refer to all queries in these areas.
Ensure compliance with safety and technical regulations, creating safe work protocols & SOP procedures.
Maintain and keep documentation, equipment manuals, etc. up to date - Reporting: Prepare and present weekly/monthly/annual reports for maintenance performance metrics e.g. budget, downtimes, SAP analyses and implement solutions for identified issues.
Participate in root cause analysis create reports to improve maintenance processes. - Other duties as assigned.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in managing a team and driving performance improvements in a technical support setting.
- Proven experience in SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD.
- Proven experience in developing maintenance programs (PM, PdM, CM).
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and software.\
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Driver’s License.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or a related field preferred.
- Compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree 5+ years of experience in technical support within a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Certifications related to manufacturing technologies e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing (preferred).

SCHEDULE DEMANDS
- General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
- Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
- Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
- Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
