Warehouse Pick & Pack Operator

The Warehouse Materials (WHM) / Pick & Pack Operator is responsible for accurate, efficient, and safe picking, packing, staging, and movement of wood products, components, and related materials within a manufacturing warehouse environment. This role supports production and shipping by ensuring orders are fulfilled to specification, materials are available to production lines, and finished goods are prepared for shipping in accordance with company standards and safety procedures. 

 

Schedule: Fulltime: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm & Partime: Monday - Friday 9am - 3:30pm

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Embody EGGER Core Values.
  • Accurately pick and stage materials and finished goods from inventory to fulfill production and shipping orders using RF scanners, paper pick tickets, or Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Pack, label, and prepare wood products (panels, boards, moldings, components, etc.) for shipment using correct packaging materials to prevent damage.
  • Inspect material and finished goods for quality, correct labels, dimensions, and damage prior to packing/shipping. Report defects per QA procedures.
  • Move materials and product using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently. Operate powered industrial trucks in accordance with OSHA and company standards (training & certification required).
  • Cycle count, perform inventory adjustments, and assist with periodic physical inventory activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and data entry into WMS/ERP for all picks, packs, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Keep warehouse, staging, and packing areas clean, organized, and free of hazards; follow 5S and lean practices as implemented.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and environmental procedures (e.g., dust control, waste disposal).
  • Communicate effectively with production, quality, shipping, and planning teams regarding order status, shortages, or issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, increase accuracy, and improve throughput.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS

  • General schedule for fulltime position is an 8-hour M-F assignment, 7:30am-3:30pm, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so. Also, have a parttime position available with schedule M-F, 9am-3:30pm. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ years experience in warehouse picking/packing or manufacturing materials handling; experience in wood products, lumber, cabinetry, or similar industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate powered industrial trucks (counterbalance, narrow-aisle, reach) and/or sit-down forklifts; company-required certification must be completed.

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
  • Valid Drivers License.

 

SKILLS

  • Basic computer skills and experience using RF scanners, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or inventory software.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in picking, packing, and documentation.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, pick tickets, measuring devices, and labels.
