Buyer

Reporting to the Head of Purchasing for North America, as Buyer, you will be responsible for supporting EGGER's business plan and objectives. You will be charged with executing purchasing projects and tasks while following the company's policies, procedures and the EGGER Group standards for cost, quality and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a workflow inbox of purchase requisitions and purchase orders.

  • Manage the inventory for raw material parts, supplies and consumables.

  • Work with Engineering and Electrical teams regarding the procurement of materials and services needed for continuous 24/7 operations and manufacturing.

  • Participate and lead RFI, RFQ and developing purchasing strategies from the results.

  • Schedule electrical maintenance services during pre-planned shutdowns and emergencies.

  • Lead the coordinating, tracking and monitoring of an assigned supplier base.

  • Create ad hoc monthly spreadsheets and charts for reporting and analytical purposes.

  • Track and develop the performance of your assigned supply base and vendors.

  • Monitor and ensure vendors’ compliance with contracts and statements of work.

  • Help create, develop and support purchasing department policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Operations, Business or a related focus is highly preferred or directly relevant years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

  • 4+ years of direct purchasing / supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment including purchase order management, technical / electrical background preferred.

  • Experience using MRP/ERP system for purchasing, forecasting and planning and SAP/ SAP Ariba experience or similar system.

  • Experience creating, managing, and expediting multiple (medium volume) POs and raw materials / part numbers per week.

  • Negotiations and contract management experience.

  • Experience supporting the early involvement of purchasing for manufacturing / operations initiative.

  • Experience sourcing new parts and identifying new vendors.

  • Experience creating ad hoc and monthly spreadsheets and charts for reporting purposes.

  • Previous relationships with mechanical, electrical and industrial/MRO vendors.

  • Strong computer skills including: MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to analyze data and present information.
